Dukes Memorial Hospital offers outpatient infusion therapy so patients who need ongoing treatment can receive care close to home.
Infusion therapy introduces fluid, medication and/or blood products into the circulatory system to treat a variety of conditions. Specially trained nurses manage a range of therapies, focusing on patient safety and comfort throughout treatment.
Infusion therapies include:
- Antibiotic therapy
- Blood transfusions
- Diagnostic lab testing
- Immunotherapy
- Intravenous therapy (IV)
- Management of central venous access devices
- Rheumatology therapies
- Targeted therapy
- Therapy for osteoporosis treatment
- Treatment of gastroenterology disorders, including Crohn's and ulcerative colitis
- Treatment for neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis and migraines
